Dear Lil,
I live in Argentina and our lives seem to have things in common.
I was born July 16th 1960 and in 1975 I heard Watcher of the Skies for the first time.
Since then Ive been a devoted Genesis Gabriel fan.
So much that in 1985 with some friends we formed a "tribute" band called "Rael".
We were very amateur but we somehow expressed our passion, and we attracted a lot of Genesis fans and it was something new at that moment.
There are some bad quality videos in You Tube.
I dont know why,but we ended playing in the most important theatres in Buenos Aires and we toured Argentina until 1991.
Now,after 20 years we started again, with different bassist and guitarist, under a different name,Genetics (ex Rael) and the passion is still intact!!.
In YT you can see some images of our first gig one month ago in front of 900 Genesis fans.
Sorry to bore you with all this history...
I just want to thank you for all this enormous piece of passionate work that youve done for us Genesis admirers.
When I watch it I can feel your enthusiasm and generosity.
Hope we can keep in touch.
Love
Nacho

Greetings to exciting Argentina (from enchanting Arizona), Nacho ! :-)
What a fun thing it is to know that Genesis lives still...but, in the form of the many talented musicians who dedicate themselves to keeping the Live music of our favorite band going - for the many adoring fans (like me) still out there!
How wondrous that you are one of those talented musicians (much like the member of The Musical Box - who I was just able to see perform The Lamb SEVEN times, starting in October!).
Like you, I was born in 1975...and after listening (and owning) all the early albums of Genesis (Gabriel and Hackett eras) - I don't think I quite realized how difficult and intricate the music is to perform live - until you actually SEE someone try to do it!
I have the utmost respect for any musicians (professional or not) - who take on the work of Banks, Collins, Gabriel, Hackett and Rutherford...I really do. *solemn nod*
Even watching such an esteemed tribute band as The Musical Box - you can witness the technical prowess required by even the best musical technicians.
I send all my kudos and best wishes to you (and your fellow players) on your newest Genesis Tribute venture...and know that it is NEVER a bore to hear of the history of other devoted Genesis fans, as are we!
With much love,
xoxo Lil
