Just saw and stumbled upon your analysis of Peter Gabriel's Lamb re-tracking yootube video.
Wow... you know your stuff. I am a musician and do a little recording at home with Logic. Always looking to learn more. Studying permaculture and designing an Eden on earth eco-village.
What city is your studio in that you did the Vid and research?
Be well brilliant Goddess.

Hi, G !
*Lil blushes*
Thank you for all your kind comments on my work...hearing from other professionals (such as yourself) provides a very lovely, internal lumens - which, as you know, comes in very handy when one is editing down one's work well into the wee hours of the night, all alone! *sharing smile, nod of acknowledgement*
To answer your straightforward question...the studio you see in (most of) my videos is my beloved analog audio control room - at my former television station.
It was dismantled a little over a year ago, now...much to many people's dismay - to make room for the video server farm which allowed the TV station to automate (using a system called "Ignite", manufactured by Grass Valley Inc).
The studio was my home for 15 years..as I was lead audio engineer for the Primetime newscasts, at the CBS affiliate in Phoenix, AZ.
The move to automation effectively disbanded my entire department (Production)- chock full of veteran Television directors, technical directors, engineers and floor crew.
A huge brain and talent drain, it was.
People (who had to stay) wept assiduously, People (who had to leave) comforted them - as we shook our heads, in sadness and shock.
But, it is the new way and new future of the TV (and all media) industry.
More grist, being produced by less people. *sigh*
(I guess I could go on and on....but, instead will turn to the happier times of our shared e-love of early Genesis - which keeps my spirits buoyed and provides my artistic editing craft a muse.).
I am just embarking on the editing down of a HUGE amount of HD footage captured in NYC & Phoenix (with The Musical Box's production of The Lamb)..and inside a truly GOB-SMACKING recording studio, in Miami Beach, FL - where fellow Lamb/Genesis fanatic (and Gabriel audio re-mix engineer) Tom Lord-Alge performs his mix-magic alchemy!
Tom has become somewhat of my cohort-in-interviewing-crime...and we are currently doing everything we can to bring the series up a notch by putting out a whiz-bang "TMB Vintage Instrument Tour-Banksynths" - by visiting Sonic Reality's Dave Kerzner (original keyboardist for the Genesis Tribute band Giraffe & CEO of one of the world's largest sampling companies).
Wait til you SEE the incredible collection of vintage keyboard and processing equipment he has amassed (in order to sample the real deal analog stuff - from which our musical mania sprang!)Please stay tuned...(and afford me a bit of understanding patience?)..as I try to figure out HOW to edit down all this 3-camera HD footage, on my MacBook Pro laptop - without blowing it up! Lololololol ! *sheepish laugh*
Just purchased newest version of Final Cut Pro ... but, coming from the world of PC & Avid - I ask for everyone's prayers, as I try to keep my Genesis videos up with (literally) Apple's cutting-edge technology !
...with much gratitude and humility,
xoxo Lil
